“Why college education is important to me”
James G. Bilkey, during the famous Dubai Ports world controversy in February 2006 stated that: “you never will be the person you can be if pressure, tension and discipline are taken out of your life.” This statement fits in well on anyone who has the desire to acquire college education. For anyone to accrue the benefits on college education which can be grouped into tangible and intangible benefits, there necessarily must be things like pressure, tension, discipline, etc., on the part of the student in order to succeed. Many people don’t really believe that a college education is necessary to become successful in the world, and that anyone who is truly talented and knows what he wants to do can achieve anything. To be honest, there is nothing wrong in this way of thinking; however, a college education is something that will act as a pivot to keep people rolling. Since ups and downs in the corporate world are unavoidable, there will be times when people will need a backup to get through troubled times. Also, it makes life much easier just to have a college education. All that being said, a college education has its good points and reasons why it is very important.
“Zeal without knowledge is like fire without light”, says Thomas Henry Huxley. One may have the zeal to succeed but without knowledge. Knowledge is the acquisition of experience. Experience itself is good enough for a person to go to college since it plays a big part in the transformation process of a teenager turning into an adult. It is during this time students learn how serious and difficult life can be and how it is important to grow up. Also, experiencing the college life itself is great. The independence, friends, parties, classes, football games, night life, social scene, all of it is something that can be considered a once in a life time experience.
